Another Milestone
Well, they are 8.5 months, and the twins have reached yet another milestone... they are sitting up on their own! They can't get up from lying down yet, but, they stay up if I get them into position. I think they really like this new perspective. They start to whine if they are in the same spot for too long (like in their exci-saucers), so this new position is a welcome addition to their floor playtime routine! I realize this seems late by most baby development charts, but my twins were premies, so I have to be patient with them.
Kaitlyn (fore-ground) took her time with this milestone... She has only just mastered it a week or two ago. Ainsley has been able to sit up for 3 or 4 weeks now. Ainsley seems to be better co-ordinated that way... she always reaches physical milestones first. I have caught her up on her knees in prime crawling position in her crib twice now! This position makes chewing toys so much easier! I also find they like to sit like this when they have a gas bubble in their tummy. Guaranteed to get a belch if their fussy! Kaitlyn used to hunch over quite a bit, but now she sits right up. They still fall backward and cry when they bang their heads on the floor, so I have to make sure they are not sitting right in front of something hard... kind of like the wooden coffee table behind them now!
