You did WHAT????
Brianna cut her hair. With so-called "safety" scissors. She took a chunk out of one side, and cut a chunk in the front to the length of bangs.
OK, I know kids do this all the time, but from the time she was little, I drilled into her thick skull that scissors are for paper... nothing else. I didn't even say something stupid like, "Not even your HAIR."
She had a friend over for a sleepover last week, and her friend showed up with a cute new hair cut. At some point, Brianna decided that she wanted a hair cut too. So, she took her scissors from her art desk and cut a bunch of her hair. ARGH.
These photos were taken the week before. I had braided her hair before bed and this was the result the next morning. She was thrilled to have "curly" hair for school and she said she looked like Rapunzel.
This was the result. Sigh. She had cut her right side up to the shoulder. The hairstylist was able to keep a little length in the back, but the front is as you see it.
I actually cried when I discovered she had cut her hair.
Brianna felt VERY ashamed of what she had done... she didn't even want to show her Dad. She still feels sad about what she had done, so I think this is a one time thing. Well, it better be if she wants to live.

Wow, she looks a LOT older!
My sister has very thick curly hair and when we were younger, I pretended that the burdocks were hair curlers and rolled them into Sarah's hair. They're tricky enough to pull of your pantleg! Mum was none too pleased!
She was devastated too . . . went and hid.
I think her hair looks cute. Aunty still loves her. But I won't gush at the cute hair, don't want to reinforce the cutting eh?
